All’s Fair in Middle School by Victoria Jamieson is a story about being true to yourself, kindness, and family. Imogene and her family have worked at a renaissance fair all her life. She loves it! She gets to have fun with her little brother and all of her family’s friends at the renaissance fair. This year, she gets to be a squire, and she’s also going to middle school! After being homeschooled her whole life, she’s nervous to go to middle school. Once she gets there, she has to navigate all the struggles of middle school, growing up, and new friends who are sometimes not your real friends. With the help of her “fair-mily” she survives middle school, finds friends, and becomes even closer with the renaissance family she’s known all her life.
