Children’s Book Project To Reopen at New Site in August

San Francisco, July 14, 2014 – The Children’s Book Project will reopen for book pickup on Saturday, August 2, 10AM – 1 PM at its new location at 1360 43rd Avenue (between Judah and Irving), at the Francis Scott Key School, 1st floor, Room #105, in the Outer Sunset District of San Francisco.

Opening hours for August and subsequent months will be the first Saturday of each month from 10 AM – 1 PM, and all Mondays 3:30 PM – 6 PM, Wednesdays 10AM - noon and Thursdays 3:30 – 6 PM.

The Children’s Book Project (CBP) has had to move from its former book site on Napoleon Street because of increased rent.  Serendipity and the generosity of the San Francisco Unified School District led them to this new 43rd Avenue location which has ample free parking in a large lot.

The CBP also has a new mailing address:  3433 21st Street, San Francisco, CA  94110 and a new phone number: 415 665-6315.

The Children’s Book Project was founded in 1992 to help build literacy by putting books into the hands of children who have little or no access to them.  Since its founding, it has given out over 2 million free books (more than 100,000 each year) to teachers, librarians, healthcare professionals and facilities that serve children.  The books that Children’s Book Project distribute come from donations by individuals, book stores and book publishers.  Please visit www.childrensbookproject.org for more information on book pickup or donations.
