Filling your need for children's books
Arranging for a book drive is an easy way to obtain needed children's books
to be used by your organization or to give as gifts to children. We have obtained
from 300 to 3000 books from an individual book drive - depending on the size
of the school (or other community organization) doing the drive and the amount
of work done by its organizers. People are happy to help children in need by
donating gently used books that have been outgrown or are no longer wanted.
Contact a school that serves affluent families in your area and ask them to
do a children's book drive for your organization. Many schools have community
outreach groups that are seeking ways to help others. You might also ask a Girl
Scout or Boy Scout troop, a church, a temple or some other community organization
to do a drive for you. Go to our Organizing a Book Drive
page for suggestions on holding a successful book drive.
