CELEBRATING 25 YEARS A quarter century ago, founder Vicki Pollack noticed a need at local public schools and began collecting and giving away children’s books from her home in San Francisco. 25 years, a couple of moves, countless volunteer hours, and over 2.5 million books later, the Children’s Book Project continues to fulfill our mission to build literacy by bringing free books to children who need them. We look forward to celebrating our silver anniversary with you (because we couldn’t do it without you!) at a special event on September 30—watch this space for more details later this summer!
